Visualization of Learning and Documentation

Beyhan Gültaşlar, who participated in an international seminar program on Reggio Emilia Approach from alternative pre-school approaches in Reggio Emilia, investigated the concept of "chidren's learning from the place/material" in the direction of her architectural discipline. Having been working on the concept of "making learning visible" in pre-school education, Gültaşlar described the Reggio Emilia Approach and how to build a curiosity-based and child-centered learning process within the Encounters #13. She stated that Reggio Emilia is not a system with a curriculum, but an "approach", and that this approach is shaped by time and social and physical conditions. In the light of her studies, she described the possibility of going to the moment of learning through sample documentation, and shared examples of practices on which children structure the learning process and how they do it. Following the Q&A session with the participants, the event ended.
