Primary School Teachers' Approaches to Inclusive Education

Beginning with the question "Who is a student with special needs?", the talk continued with the positioning of these students in the context of inclusive education and the terminological complexities used in daily conversations and in official documents. Later on, Melike Acar talked about the demographic statistics between Germany and Turkey and the findings of the research done. Towards the end of the talk, the methodology and contents used during the research were shared with listeners. The questions and answers in the attitude scales used were examined. Sectarian democratic attitudes and non-rights-based practices emerging in Turkey were discussed.

In the question-answer part of the event, teacher-participants talked about the practices and present situation of their schools and institutions in the context of students with special needs. The participants from the training faculties also gave examples from the practices of teacher education in their universities within the scope of the inclusive education.
