According to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, every child has the right to participate in the decisions affecting him/her regardless of life-development, and without discrimination. For this reason, schools should have equal opportunities for all children, provide a quality education that supports the development of children and should respect their differences. In short, schools should be 'child-friendly'. The "child-friendly school" concept, which began with the work of UNICEF, includes variables such as school buildings, environmental regulations, resources and materials, teachers, administrators, health and safety and more. Through child-friendly schools, variables that have both direct and indirect influences on the learning of children may be improved. During the event, information was shared about how the concept of child-friendly school emerged; the concept was defined under the headings of inclusivity, effectiveness, gender, health and safety and the results obtained from researches conducted in schools in Denizli were discussed.
